The Preparedness POA&M (plan of action & milestones) is a weekly column focusing on skills, self-sufficiency and taskers needed to shore up those areas that will allow us to be part of the solution. As hard times continue to unfold and resources become scarce, the prepared mind strives to take steps to mitigate those eventualities. In order to shepherd our cause, we must have a plan of action and continuously evaluate our progress via milestones as we consider the path onward.

Lee's POA&M:
Morning, TBR Readers,
WE ARE BACK!!!
We have been out of pocket for several weeks and I thank you for your patience and understanding. After the murder of the Ukranian girl in North Carolina and the assassination of Charlie Kirk in Utah, I made an executive decision for the TBR Tribe to unplug and focus on those we love. Truth be told...I needed to unplug for a while and recalibrate.
We have officially entered the throws of fall here on Rose Ridge and are at the peak of colors for the season. It's always refreshing when the temps drop and the colors start changing. We had our first fire of the season a few days ago and I am currently getting our wood stores squared away.
In addition, I installed a Aero-Stream septic tank riser over the weekend. Since we moved here to the cabin I have always had to dig to get the septic cover access but with this new kit it's going to be too easy when we have to service the septic. For those who may be interested in purchasing one of these kits you can find their url here.
NOTE: For the next week you can get 10% off on your order when you purchase through the link above. We do not recieve any compensation for this recommendation, we just want to inform our readers in case you may want one of these kits.
The focus this week is on -> Sukkot
I observed, recently, for the first time the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. Sukkot is a Jewish autumn festival that usually falls during the month September or October. This year, it was observed from 06OCT - 13OCT. Here is a more distinct definition of Sukkot per AI generation:
"It is one of the three pilgrimage festivals (shalosh regalim) mentioned in the Torah, originally an agricultural harvest festival known as "Festival of Ingathering" and later associated with commemorating the Israelites' 40 years of wandering in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt, during which they lived in temporary shelters called sukkot."
I am not Jewish, however, over the last several years I have been slowly convinced through study, reflection and prayer that our Christian faith has lost a great deal of historical reverence in modern times. The modern evangelical church has purposely walked away from the connection between the New and Old Testaments. I believe this is why so many young believers are turning to Orthodoxy or Catholicism because of the historical "accoutrements" they find in those faith systems.
Yeshua (Jesus Christ) gave us art and cares about beauty (He is the Creator). The historic cathedrals and churches we find across this planet serves us as a transendant symbol of the heavenly places. Do they have a salvific application, absolutely not, however, do they serve as a conduit by which our hearts and minds can more easily focus and concertrate on our faith and our Lord, indeed!
Taskers for the coming week...
(1) Complete my four-day-per-week workout sessions.
(2) Take a couple loads of trash and items to the landfill.
(3) Continue research and writing on my forthcoming novel, "A Mammoth Resistance."
(4) Finish squaring away this years wood stores.
(5) Read through/listen to the Book of Luke.
Folks, winter is going to be here before we know it. Lets keep preparing, not just spiritually, but physically so we may be ready for what is coming. Let's pray, that if we find ourselves in a modern day wilderness wandering that the Lord will see fit to lead us out of the darkness as well.

SUKKOT
The Feast of Booths
Again Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to Yahweh. On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work of any kind. For seven days you shall bring an offering by fire near to Yahweh. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and bring an offering by fire near to Yahweh; it is a solemn assembly. You shall do no laborious work. ‘These are the appointed times of Yahweh which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, to bring offerings by fire near to Yahweh—burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each day’s matter on its own day—besides those of the sabbaths of Yahweh and besides your gifts and besides all your votive and freewill offerings, which you give to Yahweh. ‘On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of Yahweh for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth day. And on the first day you shall take for yourselves the foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall be glad before Yahweh your God for seven days. You shall thus celebrate it as a feast to Yahweh for seven days in the year. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month. You shall live in booths for seven days; all the native-born in Israel shall live in booths, so that your generations may know that I had the sons of Israel live in booths when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.’” So Moses spoke to the sons of Israel the appointed times of Yahweh.
