The Preparedness POA&M (plan of action & milestones) is a weekly column focusing on skills, self-sufficiency and taskers needed to shore up those areas that will allow us to be part of the solution. As hard times continue to unfold and resources become scarce, the prepared mind strives to take steps to mitigate those eventualities. In order to shepherd our cause, we must have a plan of action and continuously evaluate our progress via milestones as we consider the path onward.

Lee's POA&M:
Greetings, TBR readers,
It has been a warm, muggy week on the ridge, however, AccuWeather.com is showing some cooler days for us as we progress through the coming week. No events of consequence this week for the Grey tribe...that is how we like it. :-)
I was on my way into town this past week and had a tire blow out on the way. Luckily, I was prepared and was able to get back on the road in no time at all. Lesson learned here, have your tire changing kit squared away, on hand, and become familiar with it. The stress will already be "ticking" upward...especially, depending on when and where it happens.
I was able to complete some more shop cleanup/out and relocate some preps to an additional building here on Rose Ridge. The shop is now nicely organized and clean.
The focus this week is on "barterable" preps, specifically, lighters.
Every survival list that I have seen, when it mentions barterable items, has lighters on the list. During any stressful, YOLO (your on your own), WROL (without rule of law), and/or TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know it) event, simple creature comforts like being able to warm your supper for the evening can be game changers. As time and resources permit, try to round out your storage preps with some commonly used, every day items such as lighters.
Taskers for the coming week...
(1) Complete my four-day-per-week workout sessions.
(2) Assemble a work bench, cabinet, and industry shelving unit for the shop.
(3) Continue cutting, splitting and stacking this winters wood stores.
(4) Continue research and writing on my forthcoming novel, "A Mammoth Resistance."
(5) Read through the book of 1 Corinthians.
In-light-of the recent events in Colorado with Venezuelan Gang members taking positive control of people's homes, it behooves us to revisit the old timely admonition found in the last book of the Bible - Revelation. In Revelation 18:4 we read, "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues..." - LSB
While not specifically talking about a single geographical region or institution, the divine imperative does rightfully apply for/too the believer to separate themselves from the corrupting influences of the world and it's various systems. When you go to the city you will have more people and more problems. When you COOHMP (come out of her my people) you will be surrounded by fewer corrupting influences and will most likely have much fewer problems.

Revelation 18:1-5
~
After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory. And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! And she has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird and a prison of every unclean and hateful beast. For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the power of her sensuality.” And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
